| Profile | Darren suffered a bad break to his right leg in only his 4th game for the Club, forcing him to retire from playing. However, he'd been impressed by the Seds set-up and decided to get involved behind the scenes as the 4th XI fitness coach. This wasn't and isn't his only involvement as Darren has often taking pre-match warm-ups for most teams and served on the Club's Committee throughout season 2005-06.
When the Club started Monday night training at Hurstmere School, Darren played a major part in ensuring its success. With Seds being a "non-training" Club for years, the sessions were poorly attended at first. Darren worked hard and planned his training sessions in advance, making sure that the equipment was set up and ready before players arrived. Things ran so smoothly, the players were often unaware of how organised he actually is... and by the end of the season regular attendance had soared and training is now an established part of the Seds calendar.
Work commitments saw Darren leaving the Club at the end of season 2006-07, a year that had seen him in regular attendance at 1st team matches working behind the scenes for both Murray Garland and then Terry Watmore.
